Plenty of gates on site today were automated before the current safety standards bit, or were automated by someone who never tested the forces involved. The gate leaves are often perfectly sound. It is the controls, the safety devices and the documentation that have fallen behind.
We retrofit modern control boards, soft-start and soft-stop motion, obstacle detection, photocells and safety edges onto existing installations, then force-test the result and issue the paperwork. In most cases that is a fraction of the cost of a new entrance and it closes the liability.
Upgrades are also where most access-control improvements land: swapping a worn keypad for a video intercom, adding ANPR for a staff car park, or moving a residential site from copied fobs to encrypted credentials.
Keep the gate, fix the risk
Sound leaves and posts rarely need replacing. Most non-compliance sits in the controls and the missing safety devices, which is the cheaper half to put right.
Closes an open liability
An untested powered gate is an uninsured risk on your site. An upgrade ends with documented force tests, not just a working button.
